替代的认证

 

Packets earmarked for 替代的认证 (AC) based on other documented qualifications will be forwarded to the Collegewide 替代的认证 Committee for review. If approved, original applications will be signed by the Committee Chair and shared with 人力资源 Records. Final online copies of credentials materials, including data sheets, forms and writing samples will be sent to the appropriate academic division. Applications based on 替代的认证 (AC) must be approved by the Collegewide 替代的认证 Committee prior to the scheduling of any formal teaching 作业. 

Individuals that explicitly meet college minimum degree and course work requirements as delineated in the online Valencia Credentials 程序手册 are considered to be credentialed on a “self-evident” basis. Additional documentation is not required. However, individuals that do not explicitly meet college minimum degree and course work requirements as delineated in the online Valencia Credentials 程序手册 can be justified on an individual basis by documenting other qualifications. 的理由 可基于：  

  • Appearance on programs reflecting work in the discipline

  • Certification of participation in training
  • Certification or license in field
  • Evidence of continuous excellence in teaching
  • Honors and awards directly related to the discipline
  • Letters of support from past employers, colleagues, etc. on business stationery that speak directly to work in the discipline
  • Other discipline-related documentation that demonstrates third party recognition of the applicant’s expertise in the field
  • Professional presentations

  • 识别 in journals, online sources, or textbooks on the discipline
  • Verification of work history

In addition to the information and documentation described above for the individual faculty applicant’s qualifications, applications prepared with a non-regionally-accredited degree should include information about the granting institution and program. 这 information should clearly indicate the quality of the degree program, with the expectation that it provides a substantially similar level of expertise as a degree in the same field from a regionally accredited institution. Some suggested information is listed 下图:

  • An analysis of the degree curriculum, with comparison to similar programs from regionally 认证机构;
  • A description of the program faculty and their qualifications;
  • Programmatic or other accreditation held by the program/institution with an explanation of this as an indication of the degree’s quality.

Applications based on 替代的认证 (AC) must attach appropriate third party documentation to the online application. An alternative credentialing request form is required, along with a justification (similar to the 样本 below) prepared by the course-assigning Dean or Director that provides a rationale for the teaching assignment, and a synopsis of the documentation.

Documented evidence on alternative qualifications are provided including: published reviews on various acting 表演 from the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune, a letter of reference from the Director's Guild on his work as a director and playwright, published materials on professional contributions to an Interpretive Outreach program sponsored by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and other letters of reference on public service theatrical 表演.
